The rim of the upper eyelid normally lies just below the upper edge of the iris, when the eyelid falls lower on the eye gives a sleepy appearance that can make daily activities difficult. To repair this condition we improve the attachment of the retractor muscles that allow the eye to open. Ptosis, or drooping, repair often is performed in conjunction with upper eyelid blepharoplasty.
